Family Law Committee's  CLE Lunch

November 15, 2017

Bring your Paralegal to Lunch!

Speaker:  Kalman H. Gerb, Esq.
Topic: "Tax Returns for Dummies"

One of the most critical issues in family law is determining the income of each party. This is necessary for alimony and child support calculations.  Tax returns are generally used as tools to make these determinations.  However, tax returns can be intimidating to read and difficult to understand.  Questions arise such as:  What is the bottom line? What deductions are they taking? How much income really does come from a family business?

These are all questions which will be addressed in the seminar.  This is a basic, useful course to help lawyers who don’t necessarily have a tax background to learn to accurately read tax returns and gain confidence in their calculations.
